The South Platte River and Carson Nature Center located at 7301 South Platte River, Littleton Colorado, South Platte Park is approximately 625 Acres and is owned by the City of Littleton and managed by the South Suburban Park and Recreation District. Walking or biking you’ll appreciate the woodlands, grasslands, and wetlands as well as several lakes and ponds which attracts wildlife. The Carson Nature Center offers hands-on displays regarding the history of the South Platte River and the area's plants and animals. The High Line Canal Trail begins in Waterton Canyon on the South Platte River just southwest of Chatfield State Park (boating, fishing, swimming, and camping) and ends at the northeast edge of Green Valley Ranch on the High Line Canal.
